Police officers from the South West Region have been trained on the amended Land Laws and Land Information Management System (LIMS) to equip them to handle land disputes.
During the training in Mulanje, the Director of Administration in the Ministry of Land, Victor Sandikonda said the training is crucial since police officers often deal with land disputes.
Sandikonda believes their knowledge of the amended laws will make their job easier.
Deputy Commissioner for South West Region, Mavuto M’bobo said the training is timely as the police have a backload of land-related cases, and the new knowledge will help them deal with land matters with speed and expertise.
