Malawi Broadcasting Corporation-MBC says the partnership it has established with community radio stations will create a win-win situation for both parties.
Speaking in Blantyre at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MBC and community radio stations from the Southern Region, MBC Director General George Kasakula says the MOUs will help the national broadcaster fulfil its mandate of broadcasting to the entire nation.
“In essence, both MBC and community radios will benefit from the agreement,” Kasakula said.
The agreement will see community radios broadcasting content from MBC at no cost.
About 11 community radio stations are expected to sign the MOU.
The agreement has been made possible with technical and financial support from the Malawi Communication Regulatory Authority.
