National Organization of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi (NOMN) has produced a Journal of Nursing and Midwifery.
NOMN President, Shouts Simeza, says this is the first journal of Nursing and Midwifery to be launched in the country and in the Sub Saharan Africa Region.
Simeza says the platform will be featuring different health publications, case studies, health reports, policy analysises and opinions to help in delivering high quality nursing and Midwifery content that is of impact to the health system in Malawi and Africa.
“We have put in place some mechanisms to filter content uploaded to avoid misleading researchers and the general public,” Simeza said.
Howard Catton, Chief Executive Officer for International Council of Nurses, challenged the nursing and Midwifery experts to focus on research programmes aimed at bringing solutions to health calamities affecting the country and the African continent.
Presidential advisor on Safe Motherhood, who is also the former president of NOMN, Dorothy Ngoma, advised nurses to utilize the journal in maximizing their potential by conducting research that benefits the country and strengthens health service delivery.
The Malawi Journal of Nursing and Midwifery has been developed with support from health experts in the country in line with the 2024-2026 NOMN strategic plan, which embodies commitment of excellence, relevance and impact within the health sector.
