Ntchisi District Children’s Parliament launches second session

The second session of Ntchisi District Children’s Parliament is underway in the district.

Project Manager for Joining Forces Acting to End Child Labour Project at Save the Children International, Janet Nkhoma Chagoma, says the two-day event aims to empower children to discuss and deliberate on key issues affecting their lives, such as child rights, education, and health.

Chagoma said the children will present their resolutions to local authorities and government representatives.

In today’s session, the children are deliberating on the challenges to do with access to education.

Ntchisi’s second session of the Children Parliament has seen 70 children from seven traditional authorities participating and is being chaired by 15-year-old Holiness Kalimbira as the Speaker of the Child Parliament.
