People from all walks of life have gathered at Nsipe Catholic Ground in Ntcheu for a special memorial mass for the former vice president, late Dr Saulos Chilima.
Bishop Peter Adrian Chifukwa of Dedza Diocese will lead the mass.
The mass marks exactly forty days since the death of Chilima and eight other officials in a plane crash at Chikangawa Forest in Mzimba.
Vice President Dr Michael Usi is scheduled to attend the mass.
Traditional leaders, led by Inkosi ya Makhosi Gomani V and other government officials are among those expected to attend the ceremony.
