Cases of premature deaths among newborns will be kept to a minimal at St. Joseph Catholic Mission Hospital, Nguludi, Chiradzulu following National Bank of Malawi’s support of life-saving equipment worth K14 million.
The equipment, Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Phototherapy, help newborns in breathing and those with jaundice.
Board member of the facility, Dr Failos Bonongwe, commended the bank for the gesture.
Head of Retail Banking for NBM, Oswin Kasunda, said the support is part of the bank’s 12 days of Christmas campaign.
Kasunda said the bank believes that only healthy citizens can make businesses thrive in the country.
