Nacala Logistics is raising the fare for its passenger train service, starting from March 1st, 2024.
The company says the change is due to increased operating costs and will affect both Business and Premier Coach tickets.
A one-way trip from Limbe to Liwonde will now cost K4,400 in the Business Coach, up from K3,050, and K3,150 in the Premier Coach, up from K2,220.
The company last made a similar adjustment on October 4th, 2022 which was attributed to tough economic conditions.
Nacala Logistics is a key player in Malawi’s transport sector, operating the main railway in the Nacala Corridor, connecting Mozambique and Zambia.
