Mzuzu hosts International Nurses Day commemorations

Nurses from different parts of the country are commemorating this year’s International Nurses Day at Luwinga FAM Stadium in Mzuzu City.

Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, is gracing the occasion.

Among others, the Minister and other officials have toured pavilions that organisations working in the country’s health sector have mounted.

International Nurses Day serves as a reminder of the crucial role of nurses, who are the backbone of health care system.

The day is celebrated every year globally on May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale, who laid the foundation of modern nursing.

This year’s theme is ‘Our Nurses Our Future The Economic Power of Care’.
