Governance and Human Rights Advocate Undule Mwakasungula has praised President Dr Lazarus Chakwera for fulfilling his commitment to establish a Commission of Inquiry into the Malawi Defense Force aircraft accident that claimed the lives of former Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima and eight others on 10th June 2024.
Mwakasungula described the development as a sign of Dr Chakwera’s commitment to transparency and accountability, although some Malawians doubted the process due to delays.
“We commend the President Chakwera for hiring people of various expertise and interest groups into the commission including his strong critics a sign that he keeps no grudges against anyone,” Mwakasungula said.
Commenting on his stand on the commission Mwakasangula said he is hoping that their findings will help to settle the matter and has since commended President Chakwera for instituting the commission of inquiry.
