Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is set to support the Ministry of Lands with $45 million (approximately K79 billion), from the $350 million it approved approved for Malawi.
The K79 billion will go towards improving the efficiency of the ministry in issuing title deeds as well as creating a system that will improve the collection of ground rental fees.
Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Account- Malawi II, Dye Mawindo, believes the financial support will help the ministry improve its revenue collection which currently stands at sixteen percent.
MCC approved a $350 million financial grant, with $245 million going towards the construction of four corridor roads while $45 million will go towards the Ministry of Lands and the remaining $8million will support struggling entrepreneurs.
