Minister of Water and Sanitation, Abida Mia, says education is one of the key enablers for the achievement of the country’s development blueprint, the Malawi 2063.
Mia said this when opening a new school block at Gombwa Junior Primary School in Chikwawa Nkombezi Constituency, where she is the area’s parliamentarian.
Head Teacher for the school, Chikwasha Jimu, said the block will reduce absenteeism among learners as it has created a conducive learning environment.
The school block, which has two classrooms and an administration office, has been constructed at a cost of about K46 million using Constituency Development Fund.
The school, which was opened in 2021, has 598 learners from Standard One to Standard Six.
