Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Region, Babra Tsiga, has urged the media and the police to work together and not consider each other as adversaries.
The Commissioner made the emphasis on Monday during a meeting with media practitioners in Zomba which was aimed at strategising on how best the police and media can work together.
Tsiga promised to be open and provide the media with the information they require.
“I promise a continued engagement so that together we achieve our goal of making Malawi a peaceful and safe nation,” he said.
A representative of the media, Emanuel Chibwana of Zodiak Broadcasting Stations commended the new Commissioner for the meeting, which he said provided an opportunity for the two sides to share opportunities and challenges.
