MDF Officer supports learners in three districts

Commanding Officer for 2Malawi Rifles – Kamuzu Barracks, Lieutenant Colonel Richard Maulana, has donated school uniforms to 30 learners at Salima Resource Centre for the Blind.

Maulana said the gesture is meant to motivate the learners in their education pursuits, stressing that there is a brighter future ahead of them.

One of the beneficiaries, Eunice Malekano, a Standard Six learner, commended Maulana for the kind gesture.

“The uniform comes at the right time when school has opened, I am excited and please do unto others the same<‘” explained the visibly joyful Malekano.

Maulana later proceeded to Kamuzu Barracks Primary School in Lilongwe where he financially rewarded best learners and at Malingunde School for the Blind, he also rewarded best students with cash prizes.

Isiah Munthali, a Standard Six learner, said the reward is a great motivation.

“I will work hard so that I should get position one  at the end of this school term,”Munthali said.

Head teacher for Malingunde School for the Blind, Aubrey Kapatamoyo Nankunba, called on others to emulate the gesture.

The 2Malawi Rifles Commanding Officer has also bailed out 12  Form Four students at Kasakula Secondary  School in Ntchisi by paying for their Malawi School Certificate Education, MSCE MANEB Examination fees.
