Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has unveiled a K25 million sponsorship package for the Northern Region Football League, which has been renamed the Mbelwa Northern Region Football League in honour of Inkosi ya Makosi Mbelwa V.
FAM President Fleetwood Haiya said part of the money has already been allocated to the Northern Region Football Association.
Northern Region Football Association Chairperson, Masiya Nyasulu, said out of the K16 million which has already been allocated, K7 million has been used to procure uniforms for the 16 teams participating in the league.
Nyasulu further said that K2 million will be utilised to purchase footballs, while the remaining funds will be dedicated to covering costs related to officiation and administration.
Mbelwa commended Haiya for his commitment to developing football in the region and emphasised the need to utilise the sponsorship effectively.
The sponsorship is part of Haiya’s privileges as FAM President.
