Malawi Police Service, CHREAA condemn mob justice

Cases of mob justice are still being registered in some parts of the country, which the Malawi Police Service has condemned and is urging the citizenry to refrain from such acts.

Public Relations Officer for Malawi Police Service, Peter Kalaya, has since emphasized that mob justice is a violation of human rights that needs to be curbed.

Executive Director for The Centre for Human Rights Education Advice and Assistance (CHREAA), Victor Mhango, says it is disappointing to see the rule of law not being respected.

He then urged the justice system in the country to speed up mob justice cases so that their outcome could be used to serve as lessons to would-be offenders.
