Koreans in the country on Saturday celebrated the 2024 Korea Culture Festival at Daeyang University in Lilongwe.
The event was organised by the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PAUC) Malawi Chapter.
Chairperson of the PAUC Malawi, Clara Cho Yung-Duk, said the event was organised to share the culture of Korea with Malawians and spread the message of hope for the unification of the Republic of Korea.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Unity and Culture, Owen Chomanika, said culture should be used to foster
peace and unity.
He further said the ministry encourages cultural festivals as they provide opportunities to share values of peace and solidarity.
The Korea Cultural Festival was celebrated under the theme ‘promoting international community support and cooperation for the peaceful unification of the republic of Korea’.
