Kamtukule urges MSE to boost ownership shares awareness

Tourism Minister, Vera Kamtukule, has called on the Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE) and companies to simplify and promote awareness about ownership shares to encourage broader participation in share investments.

Kamtukule made the remarks in Blantyre during the unveiling of Blantyre Hotels Limited’s prospectus book, which contains all the information investors need to know before investing in their new project, Protea Marriott Hotel Lilongwe Ryalls, which is under construction.

” The Malawi Stock Exchange must sensitize people on the market shares, how it works, and how everyone can participate,” stated Katumkule.

She described the new hotel project as a huge contribution to the development and growth of the tourism industry in Malawi.

Vizenge Kumwenda, Chairperson for Blantyre Hotels Limited, highlighted the benefits of investing in shares, saying shareholders gain partial ownership of a company.

The company is building a 180-room multi-billion Kwacha Lilongwe Ryalls Hotel in the Capital City.
