Drowning cases worry Ntchisi police

Police in Ntchisi have expressed concern over the rate at which drowning cases are increasing in the district.

According to Ntchisi police public relations officer, Gladson Mbumpha, the district has already registered over 5 cases in the just ended month, January.

Mbumpha added that, the figure is quite alarming in the history of the district.

This follows the drowning of a 53 year-old man in Mpherere river.

Meanwhile, police have warned people in the district to exercise caution when crossing swollen rivers.
