Mutharika said this when he visited people affected by floods staying in Nsanje and Chikwawa districts.

The Malawi leader warned those that will be caught in any corrupt practice that they will be jailed for 6 months.

"Am aware of the malpractices that some community leaders are doing when identifying beneficiaries, let me warn you that once you have been caught you will be squeezed."

And as has been the tradition, in both districts, the Malawi leader then led a one-minute silence in remembrance of those that have lost their lives due to floods.

Speaking at the same function, Paramount Chief Lundu concurred with the President's sentiments and asked his fellow leaders and all stakeholders to be patriotic and not to be selective when identifying the beneficiaries.

Speaking on the same, Minister of Homeland Security Nicholas Dausi thanked the President for directing that the food supplements should not only  be  targeted to  flood victims but  also to all people living in the affected areas
