On October 7 Bernard left home for unknown destination.

He did not show up at home until the next day when his body was found floating dead on the waters of Lake Malawi.

The deceased who hailed from Gulu village T/A Malanda in Nkhata Bay district is believed to have gone to the lake for swimming after his clothes were found lying along the beach.

Postmortem indicated that death was due to suffocation.
