The suspect, identified as Alex Chadza who hails from T/A Chadza in Lilongwe is alleged to have been in a secret relationship with the girl since November last year (2016).

 During the relationship, the man admits to have engaged the girl in sexual activities until she got pregnant.

 The parents of the victim complained to the police after realizing that their daughter is 5 months pregnant.

Following the report, a case of defilement under section 138 of the penal code has been opened against the culprit.

The section prohibits any person from having sex with any girl under the age of 16 years.

The incident occurred at Area 49 in Lilongwe.

Alex Chadza is expected to appear before court soon to answer charges.
