Vice Treasurer for the Association, Lameck Kaluluma said the fire accident occurred at a time when the alumni association was making strides in alleviating some of the challenges the school is facing.
“Having noted that the school is facing numerous challenges, we have decided to come up with a big walk to raise money that will help in addressing these challenges. Our aim is to assist the school in buying tables and chairs for their dining hall,” said Kaluluma.
He also noted that a conducive learning environment is a major tool in the success of a student and the school as a whole therefore it is imperative that they lend a helping hand.
“We are appealing to every person that went through the corridors of Blantyre Secondary School to come to this fundraising walk. We know that if we work together in this noble cause, we will be able to assist the students that are at this school,” he said.
The fundraising big walk will take place in Blantyre and Lilongwe on 26th August.
