Jumbe’s remarks comes following complaints that him together with the party’s spokesperson Jessie Kabwira were threatened to stay away from a rally addressed by MCP president Lazarous Chkawera over the weekend in Salima.
He said it’s unfortunate that some of their supporters were sprayed with paper sprays during the rally.
Meanwhile MCP spokesperson Dr Jessie Kabwira did not give the party’s position saying because her supporters were also assaulted at the rally which compromises her neutrality on the issue.
Recently the party re-allocated the two from their front seats in Parliament to back benches.
