Defending champions Mighty Be Forward Wanderers claim midfielder Blessings Tembo was not given signing on fees because the club's technical panel, led by Yasin Osman, wanted to assess him first.

Wanderers General Secretary Mike Butao also told MBC that Tembo failed to impress at the club.

Tembo severed ties with Wanderers just three months after joining the 2017 TNM Super League champions from Silver Strikers as a free agent.

Tembo, who featured for Wanderers in CAF Champions League against AS Vita of Democratic Republic of Congo, claimed to have ditched the Nomads for failing to honor the agreement.

“I am writing to inform you that the period we agreed on is over now. As per agreement, you promised to pay me by 20th February 2018 and failure to honor the agreement will result in terminating the contract and I will be allowed to join any club of my choice (reference to clause 21 of my contract and added clause signed by now the Vice General Secretary Chulu Mkangama.)

“Hopefully you will understand my decision as I have been patient for a period of four months,” stated Tembo in the letter.

Tembo joined Wanderers in January and he was promised to receive K4.5 million in signing on fee and a monthly salary of K400 000.

The player has since gone back to Silver. Silver General Secretary Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda said they are waiting for Wanderers to clear him.

"Blessings apologised to the club's executive committee after realizing that he made a mistake and we had to accept his apology. We all make mistakes," said Nyirenda.
