Blue Eagles' unbeaten home run damaged as Sibale leads scorers chart

As the battle for points, mainly TNM Super League title enters week 23, Lilongwe based Silver Strikers are yet to taste defeat this far while Blue Eagles' unbeaten home run ended on Sunday when they went down 2-0 to Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.

According to Super League of Malawi (Sulom), 161 games have been played this far of which 120 have been won or lost and 41 have been drawn.

 

While 354 goals have been scored and Matthews Sibale of Silver Strikers leads the scorers chart with 12 goals.

Nyasa Big Bullets, Wanderers and Silver have not lost at home while Blue Eagles unbeaten home run was tainted on Sunday by the Nomads, who have won most away games.

 

Chitipa United have collected just a single point away and are the highest conceding team with 42 goals. Civil Sporting are the highest scoring team with 32 goals to their credit while Bullets have only conceeded six goals this far.

 

Wanderers, who lost 2-1 away to Silver on Saturday, currently top the log table with 47 points from 20 games, followed by Silver with 42 points from the same number of games.

Wanderers have lost thrice and drawn twice while Silver have recorded nine draws.

 

Bullets, who beat Blantye United 4-0 Saturday, third with 41 points from from same number of games.

Civil Sporting and Blue Eagles are fourth and fifth with 33 and 32 points from 20 games apiece.

 

Wizards FC and Dwangwa United have moved up to 11 and 12 positions, respectively.

Wizards and Dwangwa United moved up after beating Mzuni FC 3-1 and Chitipa United 2-0 on Saturday, respectively.

 

While Red Lions and Masters Security have descended to 11 and 12 positions with 20 and 19 points from 20 and 19 games respectively.

Blantyre United are second from the bottom with 12 points from 20 games with Chitipa United anchoring the table with 11 points from 21 games.

 

Meanwhile, Sulom has lined up 10 matches across the countries with league leaders (Wanderers) scheduled to face off with Wizards FC at Balaka Stadium; Chitipa United will host Masters Security F.C at Karonga /Mzuzu Stadium.

 

Blantyre United will host Moyale FC at MDC Stadium with Mafco hosting their brothers in arms Red Lions at Chitowe Stadium in Nkhotakota.

Kamuzu Barracks and Blue Eagles will battle it out at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

 

And on Sunday, Civil Sporting will be at home against Azam Tigers; Big Bullets will Moyale at MDC Stadium; Mzuni F.C to host Masters Security F.C at Mzuzu Stadium;  Dwangwa United to play against Red Lions at Chitowe Stadium.

 

Azam Tigers will complete their away assignments against Silver Strikers at Silver Stadium on Monday.
