Youth for development, not crime – Kaunda

Youths in the country have been urged to contribute positively to the development of the country, by among other things refraining from immoral behaviors.

Presidential Advisor on National Unity and Parliamentary Affairs, Symon Vuwa Kaunda was speaking at Tukombo Community Ground in Nkhata Bay district during a third place football match in the 1 Million Kwacha Symon Vuwa Kaunda Trophy.


During the match Presidential Advisor on National Unity and Parliamentary Affairs, Symon Vuwa Kaunda took time to inform the people on various developments taking place in the district.


“I organized this trophy as a means of keeping the youth busy as well as encouraging interaction amongst them to share experiences and ideas that will enable them to break through in life”, said Kaunda.


Considering that youths are in majority, Kaunda also took time to advise youth to be good actors on the development of their communities by restraining from staying idle and their involvement in unlawful acts.


Senior Chief Fukamapiri of the area commended Kaunda for initiating the trophy and urged other well wishing Malawians to embrace the same in keeping the youths busy.


“This is commendable, we appreciate a lot and we would like other people who can afford to support youth programs such as these, so that our young people have something to do”, said Senior Chief Fukamapiri.


During the third place match, Kadona Stars beat Chikwina Football Club by two goals to nil.


For being third, Kadona Stars got K100,000.


The first and second winners are scheduled to get K300,000 and K200,000 respectively.
