Kaponya is a resident of Che Mussa Township in the commercial capital.
He was all smiles for winning the windfall which he said would boost his tyre-fitting business.
He said winning was just a chance by wanted to help the team in the quest to raise money for the CAF Champions League competition.
“The prize is just like a bonus. Otherwise my participation in the promotion was driven by my interest to bail out my cash-strapped club whose participation in the CAF was doubtful until TNM bailed us out and introduced the SMS promotion,” said Kaponya.
TNM in conjunction with Big Bullets FC launched the Big Bullets CAF Champions League SMS Promotion on 4 February with the aim of raising funds to support Big Bullets Football Club in their participation in the 2015 Confederation of African Football (CAF) club championship.
The promotion run for a period of eight weeks until April 6, 2015 and it raised a total of K5,867,250 which paled the estimated K50 million it was intended to generate.
The promotion was launched with the memorandum of understanding that Bullets should raise K15 million which they received from the mobile phone service provider as advance payment.
