Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony, Mutharika said he expects the two to keep the Oaths and walk the talk to ensure efficient and effective implementation of Government policies and programmes.

Mutharika also urged the ministers to protect public resources and foster transparency and accountability on top of undertaking their various mandates with utmost loyalty, integrity, dedication, commitment and hard work.
“Any Member of the Cabinet who will be involved in corruption activities will be prosecuted, and if found guilty, dismissed and jailed,” said Mutharika.

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika appointed the two on Monday following a Cabinet reshuffle which saw Tracizio Gowelo, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and Paul Chibingu, Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development being dropped.
