Nankhumwa said this when he received K3.3 million from Local Development Fund (LDF) meant for the construction of a classroom block at Khaya primary school in Mulanje Central Constituency.

“The Malawi electoral commission (MEC) set days for campaign and politicking and that time is not now except some areas that are still conducting ward elections, but this is purely time for development,’ said Nankhumwa.

He, however, called on Malawians to embrace the developmental activities being championed by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) led government if the country is to move forward.

“As a country we have lost a lot of time previously through unnecessary politicking and we can’t manage to waste another minute through the same we just need to work without looking at one`s political colors for us to move,” added Nankhumwa.

He said Malawi could run away from the fact that it has different people with different political ideologies but is not a reason for people to collate. said Nankhumwa; `We are Malawians first and our parties or religions come second so let’s work together.`

Nankhumwa however said as a party they are proud that different developmental projects are taking shape adding that it’s a manifestation that DPP is delivering in its promises.

“We are very serious with development and we want Malawi to monitor us with the developments that we would be bringing to them,” he added.
