Addressing protesters outside Parliament in Lilongwe on Thursday, one of HRDC members Solomon Phiri claimed that they would soon disclose how Government has allegedly given the K17 billion to tycoon Mulli, with a 83 year-service-period.
Mulli told reporters on Friday that he has challenged HRDC to substantiate their claim and also warned the group against dragging his name through the mud for their personal and political gains.
“I am a law abiding citizen. I am an obedient tax payer. And If I am to obtain a loan anywhere, evidence would be there for all to see. I have not received the said MK17bllion from Government. Let the HRDC prove me wrong by providing tangible evidence. This whole talk is driven my malice, especially from those who do not want to see a Malawian doing better,” said Mulli, who runs a series of businesses from transport to agro-produce.
Mulli pointed out that it was unfortunate that instead of supporting one another, some Malawians were bent on pulling down local investors.
