President Mutharika was speaking on Tuesday at Mtakataka Trading Centre in Dedza, the last scheduled stop on the Lilongwe - Salima - Dedza Whistlestop Tour.
The Malawi leader has pledged the continuation of his government flagship projects such as community technical colleges and rural electrification.
Between 2014 and 2019 Government, through the Ninth Phase of the Malawi Rural Electrification Programme (MAREP 9) has powered over 300 rural centres.
Professor Mutharika is now in Mangochi where on Wednesday 15th May, 2019 he will officially open the Mangochi - Liwonde road.
According to a statement from the Office of President and Cabinet (OPC), soon after opening the Mangochi-Liwonde road, the Malawi leader is expected to address a public rally at Mangochi Boma.
The OPC further says the event is scheduled for One O’clock in the afternoon.
