According to a statement issued by the Bureau, the ban also extends to Superior Food Market Bakery.

Superior Food Market is situated at the North Gate Arcade along the Masauko Chipembere Highway in Blantyre.

This comes days after MBS suspended and lifted a ban on production and distribution of Chibuku opaque beer from Lilongwe brewing centre due to hygienic concerns as stipulated in Malawi Standard Number 21; (Food and Food Processing Units – Code Of Hygienic Conditions).

In a previous interview when the Bureau closed Chibuku Products Limited (CPL) Lilongwe Plant, MBS Director General Davlin Chokazinga said it’s high time companies and manufacturers started adhering to the required standards.

“We will not stop here, our teams are busy conducting surprise tours in different places to make sure that all hygiene practices are followed,” said Chokazinga.
