The body has further described the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) 2019 living manifesto as the only one among many that will be able to continue transforming the lives of ordinary Malawians.

In a statement signed by the group’s Chief Commissioner Shaibu Abdulrahaman Ajasie, ICJF said their endorsement is based on their convinction that President Mutharika was living beyond politics of castigation.

“This endorsement comes following our investigation we have conducted in remote areas where the majority of Malawians dwell.  Through the investigation, we have found out that Malawians are tired of politics of castigating and want development. Time and again we have heard our state President saying that he only focuses on developing the country in several aspects rather than politics hence the need to vote for him again,” said Ajasie.

He added that: “Most Malawians are baffled with an electoral alliance of the opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and Peoples Party (PP) by saying that if poverty levels have increased in the country it is due to plundering of public resources commonly known as Cashgate which took place between 2012 and 2014 under the nose of the former President Joyce Banda. And Malawians say that they cannot afford to forget the atrocities which they experienced during the 31-year brutal rule of MCP.”

ICJF is a registered faith-based organisation whose one of its objectives is to speak for the voiceless Malawians, and would like to inform the entire Nation that it is endorsing the candidature of Professor Peter Mutharika.
