Nankhumwa said the people of Ntcheu are blessed to have their own son Everton Chimulirenji as presidential running mate to President Mutharika of the DPP who is poised to win the forthcoming elections.

 

He said with Chimulirenji he would work hard to further develop the area by constructing  a tarmac road,  a police post, health centre and a driving school for the youth among many initiatives.

 

  

Nankhumwa advised Politicians in the country to practice clean politics which benefit the majority. He bemoaned a tendency by some politicians who are on a smear campaign on social media which alleges that he is abducting small children for unknown reasons. He said such rumors are fake and are being spread by people who want to tarnish his image. He said politicians need to practice politics that benefit the people. 

 

 

“Politicians need to focus on development, we are all Malawians let’s work hard for the common good of our country,” said Nankhumwa.

 

 

Earlier Nankhumwa who is also Minister of Local Government and Rural Development  met some traditional leaders to discuss how best development can be taken forward. He said chiefs are key for development to flourish. 

 

 

Speaking earlier Inkosi Ganya said people in Ntcheu were grateful that President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika had picked Everton Chimulirenji as his Running mate for the May 21st tripartite Elections. He said the chiefs will support Chimulirenji so as to ensure that their areas continue to develop.
