This has translated to 1,600 transactions since the launch of the Be Your Own Bank-Transact and Win” promotion.

Speaking in Lilongwe during the first draw of the promotion the bank’s Head of Personal Markets Charity Mughogho said the additional Internet customers have been acquired within a fortnight of the bank launching the “Be Your Own Bank-Transact & Win” Promotion which aims to promote Internet banking in Malawi.

“The response in the first two weeks is encouraging and prospects are high that more people will come forward to join us in this new era of digital and paperless banking,” she said.

Mughogho said Standard Bank’s internet banking platform offers efficiency and security to its customers.

During the first draw Standard Bank splashes fabulous fortnight prizes which include Samsung Galaxy S6, flash discs, caps and T-shirts.

The promotion will see one lucky winner going away with a grand prize of K1 million and K500,000 for the runner-up.

The third-placed winner will walk home with a DSTV Explorer and a month’s Premium subscription which will be given at the end of the promotion in October.

To stand a chance of winning existing Current Account customers need to register for Internet Banking while potential ones should open a Current Account complete with the Internet Banking service option.

The customers must ensure to transact a minimum of four times every two weeks, and the more transactions one conducts, the higher their chances of winning.
