According to Head of Consumer and Commercial Banking at Ecobank, Victoria Chanza, the bank has rolled out the two month long promotion as a way of saying thank you to the market for the good relationship that has existed between the bank and its clients. She was quick to point out that in its infancy stage on the market ten years ago the bank’s performance wasn’t impressive. But years down the line it can proudly say it is one of the four leading banks in the country.
“Let me take you back, in 2008 when we first opened our doors on the market, it wasn’t easy to leave a mark on the market. The bank struggled but I should appreciate that our customers have been with us throughout the turbulent times when we were trying to get a foothold in the market. Acknowledging this long banking journey and as a precursor to the gala night, we would like to give back through this promotion. Ten lucky winners will walk away with K100,000 and there will be a lot of consolation prizes,” said Chanza.

Chanza further said customers of the bank will be required to maintain a minimum balance of ten thousand Kwacha in their savings accounts and should transact at least five times. To those who are not customers of the bank, they can participate in the promotion by transacting five times on Ecobank mobile app either paying water, electricity or settling tax bills electronically. They can also make use of Ecobank Express cards in their electronic transactions to be part of the promotion.
The celebrations specifically marked for August this year, will be held under the theme, ‘Ten years of innovative banking.’ The promotion’s grand prize is pegged at K1 million.
