Wendy breaks silence, set to release 4th album on 1st April

Wendy Harawa, one of the well known female artists in the country is set to launch her fourth album on April, 1 2017 at Lingadzi Inn, Lilongwe.

According to the artist, the preparations for the album launch are going on well and she said the name of the album is titled Nalliah.


“The album is a special dedication to my daughter and all daughters of Malawi. It aims at encouraging young girls to work hard in their education since it is the only way to breakthrough in life,” said Harawa adding that her daughters’ name is Nalliah.


The artist said she has been quiet in the music industry for close to 9 years because she dedicated her life to look after her family. She disclosed that the title of the track was composed by Lucius Banda who she has been working with.


“I recorded Africa when I was expecting, thereafter I decided to look after my daughter without involving a helper till she is 5 years,” she said pointing out singles like Ndionetseni and Boo Boo Tiye ft DJ Cosmo are enjoying airplay to give her fans what to expect from the album.


Zambian dancehall queen Dambisa and Hamooba as well as Leo Muntu are also featured in her music.


“Main supporting artists on that special day will comprise foreign artists from South Africa, Zambia and some from Malawi,” she explained.


Wendy Harawa released her first album in 2003, then second in 2004 and the third in 2007.
