Speaking during the donation, National president for the Vincent due Paul in the country Charles Kimu said the organisation is committed to assist government in eradicating hunger in the country.
"Most of the people are suffering so as a church organisation we want to reach out to more people affected by hunger," Kimu said.
Over 15 districts were affected by hunger because of floods and drought in 2015.
Kimu said soon after distributing maize to Zomba diocese and Mangochi diocese they will be going to the hardest hit district, Chikwawa.
The society of Vincent due Paul was established in 1970 by Catholic bishops with the aim of reaching out to the need masses in the country.
