On Wednesday, Salim Bagus who is the National Organising Secretary, District Governor for Bua Bonwel Kapatuka-Phiri, District Governor for Kasungu Daniel Kaipa, Director of Elections Zelesi Gomani and Director of Women in the North Cliffer Gondwe obtained a High Court Order restraining Mussa and Kalua from exercising their power on grounds that their appointment by Joyce Banda was unprocedural.
And Mussa believes, Khumbo Kachale is behind the injunction saga alleging that he nurse ambitions to lead the party.
Said Mussa to a local radio station: “The former vice president Right Honourable Khumbo Kachale is not happy about my appointment as acting president of the party and has actually asked these people to go to Mzuzu to obtain this injunction. But I am not worried; politics is not about injunctions, politics is about mixing with people. All he wanted is this position for himself. That is the problem. He is just jealousy and greedy, but I am not worried,” said Mussa.
But Kachale has trashed the accusations saying he was not behind the injunction, but was quick to say that those that have obtained the order are senior members of the party and they know exactly what they are doing.
“He is entitled to his opinion, Honourable Uladi Mussa. So I can’t comment on his opinion. Leading PP is not an issue, the issue to me is to let the party grow,” he said.
Trouble has been brewing in the PP since it fall out power in May 2014 elections.
