DPP Deputy National Campaign Director, Christopher Mzomera Ngwira, who is also Member of Parliament for Mzimba Hora constituency, was speaking at Malingazi Primary School in Mzimba District when he conducted a political gathering.
“For so long, the Northern region has been neglected when it comes to development. But in just a few years under the DPP led administration people in the North have seen tremendous transformation,” said Ngwira.
Ngwira cited the newly constructed Mzuzu-Nkhata Bay M5 road and the ongoing construction of the Orton Chirwa Highway in Mzuzu as some of the notable developments the DPP led administration has successfully implemented in the Northern region.
The Mzimba Hora Parliamentarian took advantage of the meeting to urge the youths in the region to register in large numbers and vote for President Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika during the May 2019 elections.
Ngwira also urged the youth to remain focused and not to be deceived by opposition politicians who are promising Malawians things that they will not accomplish once voted into power. On this point, he further highlighted that it is only the DPP government that puts the welfare of people at heart.
During the function, the Mzimba Hora Parliamentarian donated bags of cement and cash to Malangazi Primary School to help complete the construction of toilets and speed up connection of electricity at the institution.
