Chief Principal Chikalamba Gondwe of the area was speaking at Chandamale Primary School ground during a development rally organized by the party’s Regional Governor for the North Kenneth Sanga alongside DPP National Campaign Director Jappie Mhango.

“The re-instituting of the mortuary cold room at Rumphi District Hospital, commissioning of construction of the Mawerewere Bridge all in 2018, in addition to other major developments, all confirm the DPP led government’s commitment to develop the area,” echoed Principal Chief Chikalamba Gondwe of the area.

Issues of development and sharing of the national cake took centre stage at the function which attracted thousands of DPP supporters.

The traditional leader brushed aside assertions of imbalances in position allocation as alleged by other quarters.

“Tell me what else do you want, we have three main positions, Attorney General, Transport Minister including the deputy Army Commander, Brigadier Nundwe all from Rumphi which is different from other districts,” said the traditional leader.

Attorney General Charles Mhango advised people to remain focused and appreciate the tangible and timely development projects in the area.

“Don’t be misled by the opposition we are here for development and not politics hence the need to focus ahead towards 2019 for continued development,” said Mhango.

And the DPP Regional Governor for the North Kenneth Sanga commended various party structures which are helping to strengthen the party, as it pursues its open door policy.

“It’s time for building the party therefore let's welcome everyone who wants to join the party for us to emerge victors in the 2019 tripartite elections,” said Sanga.

The development rally conceals the official commissioning of construction work of Mwazisi and Mawerere bridges in the district by Minister of Transport and Public Works, Jappie Mhango.
