In a statement issued by Public Relations Officer for Chikwawa Police Foster Benjamin the fisherman Lymon Moffat, from Kaphiri village under Traditional Authority Maseya, was fishing with his six friends when he was dragged into deep waters by a crocodile that launched the attack from underwater.

The incident occurred at Block 521 Dam within  an estate of canefield.

"Soon after the attack, the crocodile vanished with Moffat, leaving his friends helpless and terrified," said Benjamin.

Extensive searches in and around the area are underway.
