In a message released by the State House Press Office, Professor Mutharika has described Trump’s sound victory as a message to all stakeholders in democracies that citizen’s inherent right to free will in deciding who should govern them should never be underestimated.

President Mutharika says the USA as a model democracy to the whole world; it sets the pace on how democratic values should be.

The statement further states that Malawi remains committed to continued good relations with the USA in all areas of human endeavor.
