Xenophobia victims return home Sunday

Malawians who have been displaced in the ongoing xenophobic attacks in South Africa will arrive in the country this Sunday.

Addressing the media in Blantyre the Minister of Information and Tourism Kondwani Nankhumwa said government had set aside 30 million kwacha to hire six buses from South Africa to ferry people who voluntarily want to be repatriated to Malawi.


He further said government has identified two centres in Liongwe and Blantyre where the buses will drop of the returnees.


The Minister said as of Tuesday 14th April about 420 Malawians were reported to be affected and are currently in temporary camps in South Africa. He gives more details.
