In a press statement released by the Ministry says Muslim Association of Malawi has advised that this year’s EIDUL-FITRI celebrations marking the end of Fasting in the Holy month of Ramadan will be observed either on Sunday 25th June 2017 or on Monday 26th June 2017 depending on the sighting of the moon.
“The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development therefore wishes all Muslims in Malawi and in Diaspora EID Mubarak, and the general public a restful public holiday on Monday 26th June 2017,” reads the statement in part.
Meanwhile, despite Monday being declared as public holiday, the Malawi National Examinations Board-MANEB will still proceed with 2017 MSCE Exam as per timetable.
