Limbe Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Widson Nhlane identified the two convicts are Thomas Namame aged 34 from Mthikira Village and Emmanuel Chimwaza aged 28 from Nguluwe Village both are of Traditional Authority Bvumbwe in Thyolo district.
“It was on October 30, 2016 when the two broke into a house of a certain lady of Nguluwe village and stole a bicycle plus three bags of maize. Police immediately launched the investigations and they were arrested at Bvumbwe Trading Centre, the bicycle was recovered in the process,” said Nhlane.
According to Nhlane, the two pleaded guilty in court and representing the state, prosecutor George Kachapila asked the presiding magistrate His worship Mangawa Makhalira to give a stiff punishment because the offence is a serious one hence slapping them with a 10 year custodial sentence to deter would be offenders.
