Malawi has been approved to seek another development compact by Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), a United States  of America (USA) government agency after it  successfully completed the first compact of  $350 million (K259 billion) energy project which closed on September 21 this year.

The United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, is today expected to jet into Malawi to attend a ceremony to honor the six Malawian peacekeepers killed in the joint United Nations Organisation Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) operations against the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) in the Beni area.
