The Addis Ababa University of Ethiopia will honour President Arthur Peter Mutharika with a Degree of Doctor of Letters on July 9.

 

According to a letter from the University’s President, the Senate of the University gave the approval while its Board of Governors has given full recognition of the selection of Professor Peter Mutharika for the honour.

 

The State House Press Office says the ceremony will be held at the Addis Ababa University.

 

The University says it has decided to honour Professor Mutharika, who is also the Regional Universities Forum Champion for Higher Education in Africa, co-convener of the International Commission on Financing Global Education and Charles Nagel Professor of International and Comparative Constitutional Law Emeritus of the Washington University in the USA for his great and outstanding contribution in academia in the world which has inspired and continues to inspire other scholars.

 

President Mutharika has since accepted the conferment of the honour of the Degree of Letters.
