Government has said plans are in the pipeline to establish community libraries across Malawi as one way of encouraging the reading culture in the country.

Police in the Southern region registers a 28% reduction in crime rate in the first quarter of the year. Commissioner of police for the Southern region Demister Chigwenembe disclosed this during a community policing review meeting which was held at Malawi Police Training School in Limbe-Blantyre.

The outgoing Chinese ambassador to Malawi, Shi Ting Wang, has hailed the cordial relationship existing between Malawi and China saying it has been beneficial to the two countries. The ambassador was speaking in Lilongwe during a farewell ceremony organised in his honour.
