Mwanza ready for 2019 tripartite elections

All is set for the 2019 tripartite elections in Mwanza District.

A random check by MBC has revealed that the electorates are ready to cast their vote. District Commissioner for Mwanza who is also the District Elections Coordinator Francis Matewere has told MBC that everything is set for smooth administration of the elections.

 

“We are doing very fine and we are at an advanced stage. A bit of statistics there are 48,294 registered voters who are ready to cast their vote come 21st May, 2019. On our part we have finalized all the background work and we are just fine tuning for smooth administration. As am talking now all polling materials both sensitive and non-sensitive have been deployed to all the 42 centres,” said Matewere.

 

On his part Headmaster for Mwanza Secondary School, Derrick Nkozomba, who is also a Presiding Officer for the polling centre, said all voting materials are ready and urged those registered to come and exercise their democratic right.

He said, “The centre will open at 6 O’clock in the morning and will close at 6 O’clock in the evening or until the last vote is cast out. We are just ready.”

 

Mwanza has two constituencies, Mwanza Central and Mwanza West. There are four wards, Khudze Ward and Mitseche in Mwanza Central, Thambani and Mpandadzi in Mwanza West. Total number of staff to administer the elections in the district is 660.
